In the official pageMicrosoft is giving a reminder to users who are currently still using Windows 11 21H2 (Enterprise, Educations and IoT Enterprises) and Windows 11 22H2 that support for both OS versions will end in the next 90 days.

On October 8, 2024, Windows 11, version 21H2 (Enterprise, Educationand IoT Enterprise editions) and Windows 11, version 22H2 (Home and Pro editions) will reach end of servicing. The upcoming October 2024 security update, to be released on October 8, 2024, will be the last update available for these editions. After this date, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.

To help keep you protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 11 business devices not managed by IT departments when these are nearing end of servicing. Moving to Windows 11, version 23H2 keeps your device supported and receives monthly updates that are critical to security and ecosystem health.

For those who don't know, Windows 11 21H2 Support for Home and Pro Editions users themselves, it has actually ended on October 10, 2023but for users Enterprise, EducationAnd IoT Enterprise editions, Windows 11 21H2 support will still be available at least until October 8, 2024.

Similar to Windows 11 21H2 non-Home and Pro Editions, Windows 11 22H2 itself will soon reach the end of support on October 8, 2024, after which this operating system will no longer receive any updates from Microsoft.

With that, users are advised to start preparing their devices to migrate to a newer version of Windows 11 or start considering switching to another operating system that is still supported (e.g. Linux). Especially for Windows used in corporate institutions and educational institutions that use the Enterprise and Education versions of Windows 11 to immediately plan the next steps to ensure the smooth operation and security of their systems.
