Apple’s smart speakers, namely the HomePod and HomePod mini, received an update today, bringing the version to HomePod Software 17.4. This is an update provided by Apple after version 17.3 which was released at the end of January.

Through this update, Apple is providing a reminder to their virtual assistant, where Siri will now learn user habits regarding the applications they use.

Following changelog what Apple provided regarding the HomePod 17.4 update:

  • This update enables Siri to learn your preferred media service, so you no longer need to include the name of the media app in your request.

Apart from that, the HomePod 17.4 update also brings improvements to system performance and stability.

Users can get the HomePod 17.4 update via the Home application on iPhone or iPad.
