Windows 11 has indeed received more improvements in features mobile devices including SMS support, even making it a smartphone as webcams.
However, friends, it seems that the improvements don’t stop there, because it was recently reported that Microsoft is exploring new methods to integrate Android devices and allow Windows 11 users to access files on smartphones using File Explorer.
This report was revealed by leaker @PhantomOfEarth on X where according to him, Cross Devices Experience Host will allow files on smartphone devices to appear in the file explorer. For example, as in the image below, where on the Manage Mobile Devices page, the Show mobile devices in file explorer option will appear.
And when this feature is activated, Windows 11 will ask the user to send a permission request to the device so that the OS can access the files on it.
Once permitted, users should be able to access files on their smartphone from Windows 11 File Explorer without a USB connection and only relying on a Mobile Devices connection via the Phone Link application.
This integration is currently still in limited testing for Windows Insider users, but of course this will be very interesting, especially since users can access their files directly from Windows 11 without having to connect the device via USB as before.
