As we know, the drag and drop feature in the File Explorer address bar has become one of the features that is expected to return to Windows 11, why? because initially this feature has been around since the Windows 10 era. But for some reason Microsoft removed it in Windows 11 22H2 Moment 4 thus causing quite a lot of users to protest against this.

Good news, finally has returned the feature in Insider Beta Build 22635.3420 which was released two last monthand coincided with the release update preview KB5037853the feature has finally been released to all users.

*New! You can now use your mouse to drag files between breadcrumbs in the File Explorer address bar. A breadcrumb shows the path to your current file location in the address bar. For example, there are three breadcrumbs in the path ThisPC > Windows (C:) > Program Files.

Microsoft said in a statement changelog update KB5037853

So, regarding this matter, Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2 users who have used Build 22621.3672 and 22631.3672 should have got this feature where drag and drop should now be possible.

But the reality is not that beautiful, guys, because this feature still doesn't work as it should.

In the tests I carried out on Windows 11 version 23H2, the drag and drop option in the address bar still didn't work, as did several other users I contacted where they confirmed that they didn't get this feature yet.
