A few days ago, Microsoft released update KB5039319 (build 22635.3785) for Windows 11 Insider Beta users. And of course, as we already know, this insider update is divided into two, namely a feature for all users, a new feature specifically for users who activate the “get the latest updates as they are available” option on the Settings page.

So, build 22635.3785 itself certainly brings quite a lot of interesting new features for us to discuss further, guys, and let’s start specifically for users who activate the “get the latest updates as they are available” option.

Improved Start Menu

The first is that when we right-click on an application that has been pinned in the Start Menu, a jump list will appear according to the application, for example like in PowerPoint below, where the user can immediately click on the latest file that the user has edited.

Additionally, there are some undocumented features including options drag and drop Pinned Apps in the Start Menu to the Taskbar, and Grid View (only for users who activate it via ViveTool) now work better and more perfectly.

So, as in the picture above, previously users couldn’t do this and could only pull the application from all apps Just go to the Taskbar to Pin.

Additionally, if the user has activated grid view so now the appearance is more perfect compared to the previous build.

These two additions are not written on the documentation page, but lucky the leaker @PhantomOfEarth managed to find the change.

Desktop Spotlight

The second is an improvement to Desktop Spotlight where Microsoft is trying to provide adjustments to the Windows Spotlight experience by making it easier for users to see this feature including changing images, responding to like/dislike and others.

Windows Share

Additionally, users can now share files/content easily to Android devices via Windows Share.

To use this feature, users are required to have completed synchronizing the device via Phone Link. Otherwise this feature will not be available.

Several other improvements

Apart from the things above, there are a number of user-specific improvements that enable the “get the latest updates as they are available” option which includes:

  • Fixed an issue causing the taskbar to not appear for a small number of Insiders in the last couple flights.
  • Fixed an issue causing screen readers to not announce when you were opening or navigating items in the breadcrumb flyouts of the open or save dialog.
  • Fixed an issue causing screen readers to not announce anything when opening or navigating items in the column header flyout in File Explorer.
  • Fixed the issue from the last flight where if you clicked your profile icon on the Start menu and chose “Change account settings”, it would not open account settings

Additionally there are several fixes available to all users which include:

  • This update addresses an issue that might stop your system from resuming from hibernate. This occurs after you turn on BitLocker.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects lsass.exe. It leaks memory. This occurs during a Local Security Authority (Domain Policy) Remote Protocol (LSARPC) call.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects lsass.exe. It stops responding. This occurs after you install the April 2024 security updates on Windows servers.

So, if you want to get all the improvements above, you are required to activate the “get the latest updates as they are available” option on the Settings > Windows Updates page. However, please remember that some improvements may not be available yet and may still be released in stages, so you have to wait if you don’t get the new features above, guys.

Snipping Tools Get an Upgrade

Apart from that, the Snipping tool application version 11.2405.31.0 specifically for Insider Beta and Release Preview users has also received improvements where now screen recorder will be saved automatically in the folder.

This feature was introduced last week for Insider Canary and Dev, but has now been extended to Insider Beta and Release Preview, you can read this article on the page: Screen Recording in Snipping Tool Get Auto Save Feature

Microsoft Store

Then, just as it was introduced in Insider Dev and Canary a few days ago, now Microsoft Store supports Microsoft Wallet.

With this, users who have used Microsoft Store version 22405.xxxx or later will be able to directly purchase applications using Microsoft Wallet. In other words, not only do you get Microsoft Rewards points at the Microsoft Store, but you can now do it redeem points for gift cards when checking out an app or service available in the Microsoft Store.

So, those are some of the improvements and new features that are present in the KB5039319 update. If you are a Windows 11 Insider Beta user, you can get this update from the Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates page. Have you tried the new features above? Comment below guys.
